On another note, Vietnam is a tad bit different. Tipping all guides and servers well as this is a poor country trying desperately to get tourism right. Sometimes I’ll tell guides afterwards that I’m a guide in my home country. And when I tell them they’ve done a good job, they can’t stop grinning. Very few tourists tip as the literature says Vietnamese people don’t tip. Well, I’m not Vietnamese, and I know the value of a local guide!!
